A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AND IF APPROVED ACCEPT GRANT FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $100,00.00 FROM THE KODAK CORPORATION. whereas, the City offers parks where families can relax together and the community can
be educated through programming; and,
whereas, the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department administers and maintains Flat
Rock Park; and,
WHEREAS, the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department provides daily
outdoor activities to program participants in park areas; and,
WHEREAS, there is the need for a safe and aesthetically pleasing area
to participate in recreational and physical outdoor activities for the entire
community; and,
WHEREAS, the need for maintaining, expanding and rebuilding areas of
the park for the community is needed; and,
WHEREAS, Kodak is authorizing grant funds in the approximate amount of
$100,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is in need of acquiring
these means of funding in our efforts to protect, maintain and enhance the
parks in our care we are requesting approval to apply for the KODAK
Environmental Grant.
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application
and if approved accept funds for parks restoration, from the Kodak
Environmental Grant. The Program is funded by a grant in the approximate amount
of $100,000.00 from the Kodak Corporation. and amend the Multi-Governmental
Fund by a like amount.
