A Resolution Authorizing THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF

COLUMBUS GEORGIA TO ALLOW PAYMENT IN LIEU OF TAXES ON ALL LOW INCOME HOUSING

PROJECTS OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA. whereas, the first Cooperation Agreement between the City and the Housing Authority

allowing for payment in lieu of taxes was entered into in 1938, and amended in

1945 and 1952; and,
whereas, the Agreement is mandated to insure the Housing Authority receives HUD funding;

and,
WHEREAS, the City will not incur any additional financial burden by entering

into this Cooperation Agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the attached Cooperation

Agreement with the Housing Authority of Columbus Georgia to allow a payment in

lieu of taxes for all low income housing projects of the Housing Authority of

Columbus Georgia.
