A Resolution Authorizing THE TRANSFER OF 90.64 +/- ACRES OF LAND AT SOUTH LUMPKIN ROAD MOTOR PARK TO THE

NATIONAL INFANTRY FOUNDATION PURSUANT TO COLUMBUS CHARTER, SECTION 7-501 (4) OF

THE CITY CODE. whereas, replacement property has been acquired to release the 90.64 +/- acres of land

at South Lumpkin Road Motor Park property to enable transfer to the National

Infantry Foundation; and,
whereas, a release and transfer deed to release the South Lumpkin Road Motor Park

property has been filed; and

WHEREAS, the National Infantry Foundation will construct a Museum on the

property; and,

WHEREAS, the property will be transferred with the understanding that should

the property no longer be used for the purpose of an Infantry Museum, the

ownership of the property will revert to the City; and,
WHEREAS, the replacement property must be conveyed in accordance with Section

7-501 (4) of the City Code.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to:

1. Declare surplus 90.64 +/- acres of property at the South Lumpkin

Road Motor Park,

2. Transfer the above property to the National Infantry Foundation;

and,

3. File the Quit Claim Deed with a reversionary clause with the Clerk

of Superior Court for permanent record.
