A Resolution Authorizing THE FILING OF A GRANT APPLICATION FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN
DEVELOPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $357,876.00 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY
CURRENTLY OWNED BY SATILLA COMMUNICATION AND THE RESTORATION AND REDEVELOPMENT
OF WILSON CAMP LANDFILL. whereas, the City will develop the property as part of the Riverwalk and Oxbow Meadows
Park; and,
whereas, the City of Columbus, Georgia would receive a grant from the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development for the acquisition, restoration and
redevelopment of Wilson Camp Landfill; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the City of
Columbus, Georgia to obtain a grant and purchase land adjacent to Oxbow Meadows
and expand the Oxbow Meadows Golf Course.
That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to submit and
application and accept a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development in the amount of $357,876 for the acquisition of property currently
owned by Satilla Communication and the restoration and redevelopment of Wilson
Camp Landfill.
