A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE AN APPLICATION WITH THE CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND

COMMUNITY SERVICE TO CONTINUE THE RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (RSVP). whereas, under the authority of the National and Community Trust Act of 1993, monies are

available for the continuation of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

(RSVP); and,
whereas, the total project cost is estimated to be $81,114, of which $31,478 is the

Federal Share and the local matching share is not to exceed $49,636; and,
WHEREAS, the period of the program application is from July 1, 2004 through

June 30, 2005.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to file an application and

accept funds from The Corporation for National and Community Service to

continue The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program for a total program cost

estimated to be $81,114, with the local matching share not to exceed $49,636;

and the City Manager may also enter into the contract for the program

accordingly and amend fund 216-270-4432.
