CALLED TO ACTIVE DUTY
Brad Chambers, Director of Parks and Recreation, has been called to active
duty. He left Saturday, November 24th and is currently stationed in Germany.
He will be away six to nine months. Tony Adams will be Acting Director of
Parks and Recreation while Brad is gone.

ANNUAL BI-CITY CHRISTMAS PARADE
The Annual 2001 Bi-City Christmas Parade will be Saturday, December 8, 2001
starting at 10:00 a.m. It is sponsored by the City of Columbus and City of
Phenix City. There will be approximately 200 units participating, which
includes floats, marching bands, convertibles, etc. The assembly point for the
parade will be the intersection of Colin Powell and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Parkway in Phenix City.
The parade will begin on the Old Broad Street extension in Phenix City and
continue down Broad in Phenix City, cross over the 13th Street Bridge (Horace
King Friendship Bridge), then turn right on Broadway in Columbus and continue
to 9th Street. The parade will terminate at Broadway and 9th Street.
Approximate length of the parade route is 1 ? miles.

CCG-TV PROGRAM SCHEDULE
Council Meetings may be viewed live the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30
p.m., and all other Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. It may be seen again daily at 7:00
p.m.
CCG-TV can be seen on AT&T Cable on Channel 21, Knology Cable on Channel 17,
and Charter Cable on Channel 21.

COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
A Community Improvement Meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December
6, 2001 at the BAND Community Center located at corner of 50th Street & 12th
Avenue. Each department representative will give status update on the progress
in the Beallwood area.
