Subject: UDO Meetings with the Development Community

At the request of the development community, we have begun the process of
reviewing the proposed Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). A committee,
chosen by the development community, has begun meeting with staff members every
two weeks, and will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, May 28, at 9:00 a.m. in
the Government Center Annex Conference Room. The meetings will be limited to no
more than an hour and a half. On alternate Thursdays, the development
committee will hold open meetings with their membership at the Greater Columbus
Home Builders Association offices, to inform them what has been accomplished at
our meetings and to discuss any items that need to be addressed with city staff.
The purpose of the meetings will be to work out any concerns that may be
associated with this proposed ordinance and make final recommendations to the
Council for final consideration. The number of meetings, nor a completion
date, has been established for this activity. Staff will keep the Council
apprised of the committee's action, as the meetings progress.
