The Environmental Protection Division of the Georgia Department of Natural

Resources has notified City staff that we must enforce a regulation in our

National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit that prohibits

the flow of non-storm water into our storm water system. The enforcement of

this regulation will require businesses such as Detailing Shops within Muscogee

County to treat their waste water. City Staff will be contacting these business

to inform them of this enforcement policy.

Staff is also meeting with representatives from EPD to determine the most

effective method to work through this process with the affected businesses.
