Subject: Golden's Foundry Air Quality Permit
No attachments for this document.
At the July 11 Council meeting, Councilors were notified by the Georgia
Environmental Protection Division (GAEPD)that Golden Foundry & Machine Company
had applied for air quality permit. The permit would allow the company to add
an additional induction furnace which would increase particulate matter
emissions by 2.48 tons per year and NOx emissions by 0.33 tons per year and
replace an existing scrap preheating conveyor.
As requested by Council, Mr. Ron Meither of the GAEPD was contacted to
determine if this granting of this permit would have any significant impact on
the city's air quality standards. Mr. Meither stated that granting the permit
would not have any significant impact on our air quality and that it should not
affect our overall ratings. At this time, no additional comments are required
towards this permit.
