You will find attached for your review a copy of the Short Term Work Program
(STWP), which is a part of the Columbus Comprehensive Plan.
The STWP is the five year implementation plan that sets goals in various
categories. The categories include Housing, Community Facilities
(transportation, recreation, etc.), Land Use, and Natural & Historic Resources.
This STWP has to be updated every 5 years. City Staff along with
representatives for the Lower Chattahoochee Regional Development Commission
(LCRDC) have completed the update for STWP.
The Lower Chattahoochee Regional Development Commission (LCRDC) is designated
by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) to input this plan. DCA
also requires a public hearing and a resolution of support from Council before
it is submitted. The public hearing has been scheduled for June 19, 2003, at
6:30 pm in Council Chambers. The resolution will be on the July 1, 2003
Council Agenda.
