A RESOLUTION



NO.



WHEREAS, Coach Bobby Howard of Columbus High School was recently selected by

USA Today as the National High School Coach of the Year;



WHEREAS, Coach Howard guided his Blue Devils baseball team to a Class AAAA

State championship and a 35-2 record;



WHEREAS, USA Today noted that Coach Howard's team won its eighth State title

and that Howard was recommended for the honor by several of his coaching peers,

including longtime Parkview Coach Hugh Buchanan;



WHEREAS, he is also the winningest coach in Georgia with more than 600

victories;



WHEREAS, Coach Howard's accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by

this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We commend and congratulate Columbus High School Coach Bobby Howard upon his

selection by USA Today as the National High School Coach of the Year. Columbus

is proud of his accomplishments and we wish him every success in the future.

Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Bobby Howard.
