AN ORDINANCE

NO.______



An ordinance amending the "Official Street Map, City of Columbus,

Georgia," by changing the official street name for the sections of public

roadways currently designated as Weems Road and Livingston Drive to "Whittlesey

Boulevard" to be one street name consistent with the length of the roadway;

authorizing the replacement of existing street name signs labeled as Weems Road

and Livingston Drive to Whittlesey Boulevard.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:



Section 1.



The "Official Street Map, City of Columbus, Georgia" is hereby amended

as follows:



The name of Weems Road is hereby changed to Whittlesey Boulevard

running west to east from the eastern right of way line of Veterans Parkway to

the western right of way line of the newly relocated Weems Road.



Section 2.



The "Official Street Map, City of Columbus, Georgia" is hereby amended

as follows:



The name of Livingston Drive is hereby changed to Whittlesey Boulevard

running west to east from the western right of way line of Livingston Drive to

the western right of way line of Moon Road.



Section 3.



Official street name signs shall be erected indicating "Whittlesey

Boulevard" at its intersection with Veterans Parkway and Moon Road and other

locations determined by the Traffic Engineer.



Section 4.



All ordinances and parts of ordinances that are in conflict with this

ordinance are hereby repealed.

Introduced at the regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia

held the 30 day of July, 2002. Introduced a second time at a regular meeting

of said Council held the 6 day of August, 2002 and adopted at said meeting by

the affirmative vote of _____members of Council.
