AN ORDINANCE
NO.
Amending Columbus Code, Chapter 13, so as to adopt the State Rules and
Regulations for Tourist Accommodations and provide for a permit fee for the
health permit and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Columbus Code Section 13 is hereby amended by adding a New Article XIII:
The Rules and Regulations of State of Georgia for Tourist Accommodations, at
290-5-18 et seq. in the Rules and Regulations of the State of Georgia, as
compiled by the Secretary of State are hereby adopted and incorporated herein
by reference and a copy of the same is attached hereto.
SECTION 2.
290-5-18-.02(1) of the Rules and Regulations of the State of Georgia
for Tourist Accommodations shall be amended by adding the following after
subparagraph (h):
(i) Before a Tourist Accommodation permit is granted pursuant to this
Chapter by the health authority, each applicant shall pay a permit fee in the
amount established as shown on the attached fee table that is incorporated
herein by reference and a copy of the same attached hereto. A copy of said fee
table is on file in the office of the Clerk of said Council of Columbus.
(j) Tourist Accommodation permits granted by the health authority under
this Chapter shall expire on June 30 of each year. Permit holders do not have
an automatic right to renewal and must be in satisfactory compliance with the
provisions of the rules of this Chapter for the granting of permits. Permit
renewal fee(s) must be received by the health authority within thirty (30) days
of the expiration of the permit;
(k) Permit holders who fail to satisfy compliance with the rules of
this Chapter at the time of renewal or fail to submit the permit renewal fee as
required, are subject to administrative closure of the establishment.
SECTION 3
290-5-18-.18 shall be deleted in its entirety and there substituted a
new section so numbered as stated to read as follows:
?290-5-18-.18 Penalty. Any person who violates any provision of this Article
shall be punished pursuant to Sec. 1-8 of the Columbus Code. Citations for
such violations shall be heard in the Environmental Court Division of Recorders
Court.?
SECTION 4.
This Article shall be effective June 30, 2004.
SECTION 5.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
are hereby repealed.
