A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, on Saturday, November 19, 2005, Mr. Jimmy Stuckey and his son Michael,

13, were traveling to the Alabama-Auburn football game on Interstate 85 when

they came across an accident involving Mr. David Moore;



WHEREAS, Mr. Moore was returning to Columbus from Montgomery and fell

asleep at the wheel between Auburn and Opelika;



WHEREAS, Mr. Moore?s SUV flipped and landed upside down in a water-filled ditch

off the shoulder of the northbound lane of the Interstate;



WHEREAS, the Stuckeys stopped and rendered aid to Mr. Moore along with other

motorists;



WHEREAS, Mr. Moore was taken to East Alabama Medical Center and treated for

minor injuries--Jimmy and Michael Stuckey skipped the football game and instead

visited Mr. Moore in the hospital and drove home to Phenix City and caught the

end of the game on television;



WHEREAS, the selfless acts of Mr. Jimmy Stuckey and his son Michael are worthy

of special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We commend Mr. Jimmy Stuckey and Michael Stuckey for coming to the aid of

motorist David Moore on Saturday, November 19, 2005. Columbus is proud of their

heroic deeds and we wish them every success in the future. Let a copy of this

resolution be forwarded to the Mr. Jimmy Stuckey and Michael Stuckey.

6th day of December, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
