__________________________________________________________

Recommendation: Authorize the City Manager to accept a grant from the

Background: This grant will enhance the response capabilities of our first

Analysis: This program provides our city with equipment support to enhance

our capacity to respond to incidents of terrorism involving the use of a weapon

capabilities to a weapon of mass destruction incident by utilizing with

equipment identical to that which would be used in the event of an actual

weapon of mass destruction incident.

Financial Considerations: The attached resolution will authorize the

acceptance of the grant of $280,000, no matching funds are required. This is a

reimbursement grant program. The City will be required to operate this

equipment with current operating funds.

Legal Considerations: The Columbus Consolidated Government is an eligible

applicant for this grant program.
