MINUTES # 48-05





The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, December 7, 2005,

at 2:00PM with Assessors Ann Grantham, Richard Stallings, William Braxton and

Pat Hunter present. Also present was Interim Chief Appraiser Betty J.

Middleton. Chairman Lawton Grantham was absent.



Assessor Richard Stallings made a motion to approve Minutes # 47-05, Assessor

William Braxton seconded the motion, motion carried unanimously.



The Board approved assessment corrections for real estate.



Met with City Attorney Clifton Fay to discuss the values placed on Exide by

arbitrators. After discussion it was agreed for the City Attorney to contact

the attorney representing Exide to make a proposal.



Met with Residential Division Chief Bob O?Brien, reviewed and approved the

following:



2006 Map Split: 2



Also a discussion followed concerning the Board of Equalization?s decision

regarding a value reduction to possibly appealing it to court. The Board felt

the cost would be offsetting.



Met with Commercial Division Chief Linda King, reviewed and approved the

following

Permits: 5



Interim Chief Appraiser Betty Middleton presented the assessment corrections

for the Personal Property Division, which were reviewed and approved as follows:
