AN ORDINANCE

An ordinance amending Chapter 3 of the Columbus Code so as to permit the
transfer of an alcoholic beverage license from a hotel to a restaurant and vice
versa once during any calendar year provided the restaurant is located in the
same building as the hotel operations; deleting the provision which allows
provisional licenses to be held by attorneys; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Section 3-9 of the Columbus Code is hereby amended by adding a new
subsection (f) to read as follows:
"(f) Notwithstanding any other provisions contained in this chapter, a
hotel licensee may transfer a license to a restaurant licensee and a restaurant
licensee may transfer a license to a hotel licensee if both the hotel and the
restaurant are located within the same building where the hotel operations are
conducted. Such a transfer may only be made once during any calendar year.
Such transfers shall not be permitted for any hotel or restaurant which has had
an alcoholic beverage license revoked or where renewal of such a license has
been denied within the preceding twelve (12) months."
SECTION 2.
Section 3-6(a) of the Columbus Code is hereby amended by deleting
subsection (9) in its entirety.
SECTION 3.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
