A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AND IF APPROVED

ACCEPT A LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT (LLEBG) FOR $81,658 FROM THE BUREAU

OF JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION (BJA), APPROVE THE ALLOCATION OF A 10% MATCHING FUND

OF $9,073 FROM THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND AND AMEND THE BUDGET BY ALIKE

AMOUNT.



WHEREAS, the Columbus Consolidated Government is committed to providing

support for Public Safety Projects and these funds will support projects which

will improve the ability of Public Safety agencies to provide services to our

community; and,



WHEREAS, the Muscogee County School District, Muscogee County Sheriff's

Office, Columbus Police Department, Columbus Fire Department, Columbus Drug

Court, and Children's Tree House have submitted proposals for funding; and,



WHEREAS, the BJA/LLEBG Advisory Board has approved the allocation of

funds for the proposed projects (see attachment); and,



WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held on this date; and,



WHEREAS, the total grant amount is $90,731 with $81,658 being provided

by the LLEBG and 10% or $9,073 allocated as the local match.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS

FOLLOWS:



Authorize the City Manger to:

1. Submit an application and if approved accept a Local Law

Enforcement Black Grant for $81,658 from the Bureau of Justice Administration;

and,

2. Approve the allocation of a 10% matching fund of $9,073 budgeted in

the Transfer Out to the Multi-Governmental Fund: and,

3. Amend the Multi-Governmental Fund by $90,731.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held the
