2004 Legislative Session
Week 5
Days 18-21
Week 5 of the Georgia Legislative focused predominantly on the redrawing of the
legislative districts, continued appropriations progress, as well as a working
with an unknown schedule.
After the court ruling last week, the legislature began meeting in order to
begin the process of redistricting. According to the rendered decision, the
legislature has until March 1 to submit new maps.
The House passed the Supplemental Budget. It now goes to the Senate for
continued work.
Although the House passed a resolution dictating a schedule for the next two
weeks, the Senate did not agree. As a result, the Legislature worked ?in
session? all five days this week.
