An Ordinance amending the Zoning Atlas of the Consolidated Government
of Columbus, Georgia; this amendment changes certain boundaries of a district
located at the west end of South Stadium Drive, from R-1 (Low Density
Residential) District to R-4 (High Density Residential) District.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Division of the
Department of Community and Economic Development be, and the same is hereby
amended by changing the following described property from R-1 (Low Density
Residential) District to R-4 (High Density Residential) District:
All that tract or parcel of land lying and being part of Land Lots 19 and 20,
8th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and being more particularly
described as follows:
BEGIN at an iron stake marking the common corner of Land Lots 1, 2, 19, and 20
of said 8th District; thence South 03 degrees 12 minutes 37 seconds East, along
the easterly line of Land Lot 19, 310.83 feet to an iron stake; thence North 83
degrees 11 minutes 44 seconds West, 99.04 feet to an iron stake; thence South
83 degrees 48 minutes 51 seconds West, 82.66 feet to an iron stake; thence
South 72 degrees 30 minutes 28 seconds West, 73.22 feet to an iron stake on the
northerly right-of-way line of J.R. Allen Parkway; thence North 10 degrees 25
minutes 26 seconds West, along the right-of-way line of J.R. Allen Parkway,
51.79 feet to an iron stake; thence South 79 degrees 01 minute 09 seconds West,
along the right-of-way line of J.R. Allen Parkway, 144.77 feet to an iron
stake; thence leaving said right-of-way, North 42 degrees 51 minutes 53 seconds
West, 0.25 feet to an iron stake; thence North 30 degrees 38 minutes 19 seconds
West, 33.29 feet to an iron stake; thence North 29 degrees 41 minutes 06
seconds East, 52.65 feet to an iron stake; thence North 50 degrees 34 minutes
30 seconds East, 91.86 feet to an iron stake; thence North 26 degrees 15
minutes 37 seconds East, 98.56 feet to an iron stake; thence North 09 degrees
44 minutes 29 seconds West, 61.79 feet to an iron stake on the northerly line
of Land Lot 19 and the southerly line of Land Lot 20; thence North 09 degrees
47 minutes 01 second West, 88.19 feet to an iron stake; thence South 77 degrees
36 minutes 20 seconds East, 293.22 feet to an iron stake at the point of
beginning.
The above-described property is being rezoned with the following conditions:
1. All lighting shall be directed internally using deflector shields.
2. A permanent standard cul-de-sac shall be constructed at the west end of
South Stadium Drive.
