WHEREAS, Teacher of the Year honorees in the Muscogee County School District

are selected based upon teaching excellence, innovation in the classroom,

professional leadership and community involvement;



WHEREAS, honorees become part of the Muscogee Educational Excellence

Foundation?s Merit Teachers and all honorees receive special recognition for

their teaching excellence;



WHEREAS, the accomplishments of these teachers are worthy of special

recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate the following 56 teachers upon their

nomination for 2004 Teacher of the Year: Gene Avery (Academic Success Center),

8th day of June, 2004, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
