AN ORDINANCE

Amending Columbus Code Section 2-1 so as to provide an exception from the

two-term rule for members of the Board of Honor; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.



Columbus Code Section 2-1 is hereby amended by deleting the second

sentence in its entirety and by substituting a new second sentence to read as

follows:



"Appointees appointed hereunder who have served two (2)

consecutive full terms shall not be eligible to succeed themselves until the

lapse of twelve (12) months from the end of said terms; provided, however, that

such limitation shall not apply to permanent, full-time employees of the

consolidated government who are serving in appointed positions, to the Muscogee

County Board of Elections or to the Board of Honor."



SECTION 2.





All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are

hereby repealed.
