RESOLUTION
NO.
WHEREAS, the Tree Ordinance Committee has recently completed its work as
requested by the City Manager;
WHEREAS, Committee Chairman Thomas Milton Jones ably led the Committee as they
reviewed various sections of the Columbus Charter and departments of the
Consolidated Government;
WHEREAS, the changes recommended for protecting and planting trees has been
submitted to the Council of Columbus;
WHEREAS, the Committee held a series of public meetings to discuss proposed
changes to the Columbus Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and express our deep appreciation to the Columbus Tree
Ordinance Committee Chairman Thomas Milton Jones and members Susan Binns, Erin
Bouthillier, Leah Braxton, Don Campbell, Dr. Becky Champion, Bill Consolletti,
Glenn Davis, Dave Erickson, Marty Flournoy, John Flournoy, Phillip Ford, Larry
French, Susan Kleto, Warren Mason, Jody Nelson, Samantha Reese, Otis
Scarborough, Gloria Weston-Smart, Ken Spano, Che Spurlin, Elizabeth Thorne and
Teresa Tomlinson, for their dedication and hard work at fulfilling the duties
of the Committee as required by Georgia law. Let a copy of this resolution
be forwarded to each member of the Columbus Tree Ordinance Committee.

19th day of March, 2002, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
