The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at

2:00PM with Chairman Lawton Grantham, Assessors Richard Stallings, Ann

Grantham, William Braxton and Pat Hunter present. Also present was Chief

Appraiser Martin J. Land.



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to approve Minutes # 22-04, Assessor

Richard Stallings second the motion, motion carried unanimously.



Met with Mrs. McDaniel regarding her personal property account 6253401. Mrs.

McDaniel said she was here today because of her own negligence. She said she

purchased a business license in June 2001 to do internet marketing out of her

home and closed it in September 2003,however; she plans to get another business

license and will attempt internet sales again. She said she received the

personal property returns and the official tax notice, but she was a

procrastinator and did not take care of her business. She said she actually

paid an accountant to complete the personal property return but never submitted

it. She said if the Board would have sympathy for her this time it would never

happen again. The Board took no action.



Met with Residential Division Chief Bob O?Brien, reviewed and approved the

New Constructions: 4

% Permits: 8



Met with Commercial Division Chief Linda King, reviewed and approved the

following:



2004 Map Split: 5

2003 Map Split: 1

Permits: 15

Transf/Reval: 10

NBHD Reval: 1



The Board approved tax exempt status for 2004 for parcel ID 064 033 025 which

was field reviewed by the Commercial Division.
