A RESOLUTION
NO.
WHEREAS, the Columbus Northern Little League 9-10 All-Stars recently won the
2002 Georgia State Championship;
WHEREAS, the Northern All-Stars first won the District 8 Tournament with a
record of 5-0 and defeated Pioneer 9-1, defeated Sally 10-0, defeated American
12-2 and defeated Peach twice by scores of 18-3 and 10-0;
WHEREAS, Northern then won the State Tournament with a record of 4-0 and
defeated Cartersville 15-7, defeated Toccoa 14-10, defeated East Marietta 23-5
and defeated Warner Robins 15-1;
WHEREAS, this team's accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by this
Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate the following Columbus Northern Little
League 9-10 All-Stars upon their victory in the 2002 Georgia State
Championship: Carson Banks, Taylor Beach, Will Braxton, Wes Dougherty, Will
Heard, Jake Howard, Evan Jones, James Miller, Bret Noel, Michael O'Neal,
Brandon Phillips, Matthew Rossi and Brett Wright, Manager Dusty Perdue and
Coaches Randy Morris and Kevin Howard and Team Mom Paige Beach. Columbus is
truly proud of this state championship team?s hard work and dedication and we
wish them every success in the future.
