AN ORDINANCE

An Ordinance amending the General Government and Public Safety Pension Plans as

required by the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001

(?EGTRRA?) in accordance with sections 401(a)(17)(B), 415(B) and 401(a)(31) of

the Internal Revenue Code.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.



Appendix A, prepared by Mercer Human Resources Consulting and attached hereto

is hereby adopted to amend section 2.17(c) of the Columbus, Georgia Employee?s

Pension Plan and section 2.18(c) of the Public Safety Pension Plan, earnings

limitation, as it relates to both Plans Section 4.08 Maximum Pensions and

Section 5.03 Direct Rollover Rules. Said plan changes shall be effective with

plan year beginning July 1, 2002.

SECTION 2.

This amendment shall supersede the provisions of the plan to the extent those

provisions are inconsistent with the provisions of this amendment.

SECTION 3.

All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are

hereby repealed.
