AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING VEHICULAR TRAFFIC IN COLUMBUS, GEORGIA BY
DELETING FROM THE "OFFICIAL STREET MAP, CITY OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA" THE STREET
SEGMENTS AND RIGHTS-OF-WAY OF MOUNT STREET, 5TH AVENUE AND OLD ALIGNMENT OF
HAMILTON ROAD AND THE NEW ALIGNMENT OF 5TH AVENUE NORTH OF 18TH STREET WITH
EACH STREET SEGMENT BEING DESCRIBED IN DETAIL BY PARCELS ON SURVEYED PLATS BY
THOMAS L. FRENCH, JR. AND MADE PART OF THIS ORDINANCE BY REFERENCE; PROVIDING
THAT ALL EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS OF RECORD REMAIN IN EFFECT AND PROVIDING
APPROPRIATE WIDTH OF EASEMENTS AS REQUIRED BY THE APPLICABLE UTILITY COMPANIES
WILL BE RESERVED FOR UNKNOWN UTILITIES; AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF SAID
PROPERTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COLUMBUS CHARTER; REPEALING CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

NOW, THEREFPORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.
That the "Official Street Map, City of Columbus, Georgia" is hereby
amended by deleting the following street segments and rights-of-way:
Mount Street: street segment described as Parcel "A" being 0.109 acres on
survey plat entitled Survey for Property of Columbus Consolidated Government by
Thomas L. French, Jr. dated December 23, 2002 and recorded in Plat Book _____
and Folio _____ made part of this ordinance by reference.
5th Avenue: street segment described as Parcel "B" being 0.077 acres on survey
plat entitled Survey for Property of Columbus Consolidated Government by Thomas
L. French, Jr. dated December 23, 2002 and recorded in Plat Book _____ and
Folio _____ made part of this ordinance by reference.
Hamilton Road: street segment described as Parcel "C" being 0.062 acres on
survey plat entitled Survey for Property of Columbus Consolidated Government by
Thomas L. French, Jr. dated December 23, 2002 and recorded in Plat Book _____
and Folio _____ made part of this ordinance by reference.
5th Avenue: street segment described as Parcel "A" being 724.0 square feet on
survey plat entitled Parcel "A" Property Survey for Columbus Consolidated
Government by Thomas L. French, Jr. dated May 6, 2003 and recorded in Plat Book
_____ and Folio _____ made part of this ordinance by reference.
5th Avenue: street segment described as Parcel "B" being 6.8 square feet on
survey plat entitled Parcels "B", "C", & "D" to be conveyed by Medical Center
Hospital & Columbus Consolidated Government by Thomas L. French, Jr. dated May
6, 2003 and recorded in Plat Book _____ and Folio _____ made part of this
ordinance by reference.
5th Avenue: street segment described as Parcel "F" being 274.0 square feet on
survey plat entitled Property Survey for Columbus Consolidated Government by
Thomas L. French, Jr. dated May 6, 2003 and recorded in Plat Book _____ and
Folio _____ made part of this ordinance by reference.
19th Street: street segment described as Parcel "E" being 0.047 acres on
survey plat entitled Survey of Parcel "E" Part of abandoned 19th Street R/W
Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia by Thomas L. French, Jr. dated May 6, 2003
and recorded in Plat Book _____ and Folio _____ made part of this ordinance by
reference.
SECTION II.
That all existing utility easements of record remain in effect and that
appropriate easement width as required by applicable utility companies shall be
reserved for unknown utilities.
SECTION III.
That the street segments and rights-of-way described in Section I are
hereby declared surplus and no longer needed for roadway purposes.
SECTION IV.
That the street segments and rights-of-way described in Section I are
hereby authorized for disposal in accordances with the Columbus Charter.
SECTION V.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this
ordinance are hereby repealed.
