A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts has been constructed as a
public-private partnership between the State of Georgia, the Columbus, Georgia
Consolidated Government and private donors to The Columbus Challenge;
WHEREAS, the new RiverCenter is a state-of-the-art facility containing three
theatres and acclaimed educational facilities;
WHEREAS, it will serve our local residents as a cultural and educational
resource offering entertainment programs for decades to come;
WHEREAS, the RiverCenter is already having a significant economic impact with
the revitalization efforts underway in Uptown Columbus;
WHEREAS, the Grand Opening Celebration of the RiverCenter was conducted with
over thirty public activities successfully attracting thousands of local
patrons;
WHEREAS, the RiverCenter's Board of Directors, professional staff and many
volunteers have performed outstanding service to our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate RiverCenter Project Manager and Executive
Director James Baudoin and his staff for their hard work in planning and
conducting grand opening events for this fabulous cultural and educational
facility. Columbus is truly proud of the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts
which will serve the Columbus community for generations to come. Let a copy of
this Resolution be forwarded to Mr. James Baudoin.
