A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONDEMNATION OF 115 ACRES OF PROPERTY ADJACENT TO

STANDING BOY CREEK STATE PARK AS IDENTIFIED ON THE ATTACHED MAP MARKED "EXHIBIT

A", AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE OPTION

WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES (DNR) FOR THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY

WHEN CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS ARE COMPLETE.

WHEREAS, the Department of Natural Resources has requested the Columbus

Consolidated Government condemn 115 acres of property adjacent to Standing Boy

Creek State Park; and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Natural Resources will execute a Letter of Intent to

purchase the property from the Columbus Consolidated Government and pay all

costs associated with the condemnation proceedings; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Columbus Consolidated Government to

assist the Department of Natural Resources in obtaining a clear title to the

property.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to proceed with condemnation

proceedings on the above described property and to execute a Purchase Option

(attached hereto and made a part hereof) with the Department of Natural

Resources (DNR) to then purchase the property and pay all costs associated with

the condemnation proceedings.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held the

______ day of ____________ 2002 , and adopted at said meeting by the

affirmative vote of _______ members of said Council.
