The terms of office of Mr. James E. Buntin, Mr. Frank S. Etheridge, and

Mr. Bob Gilson on the Development Authority will expire on April 30, 2002.

Mr. Buntin and Mr. Etheridge are not eligible to succeed themselves. Mr. Gilson

is eligible to succeed himself for one additional six-year term. This is the

end of his first full term on the board since he was appointed to succeed Mr.

John Joel Lee back in 1996.



Including the three incumbents there are six board members who resides in

Senatorial District 16. There is one board member who resides in Senatorial

District 15, and currently there is one woman serving on this board.



Enclosed is a copy of our data sheet, as well as a list of the current

members.

CHARTER REFERENCE: Section 4-103, General Provisions Concerning Boards,

Commissions and Authorities. Sec 4-623 makes reference to the Industrial and

Port Development Commission, but make no reference to the Development Authority.





COLUMBUS CODE REFERENCES: Sec 2-61 through 2-69. Also, see Secs. 2-1, 2-3.01,

2-3.02 and 2-3.1 for general provision relating to all boards, commissions,

authorities and committees.





COMPOSITION OF BOARD: Seven members.





QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS: Shall be residents and taxpayers of Columbus.

Officers and employees of the Consolidated Government are not eligible to

serve. (Ga. Laws 1969, Page 140, Sec 3. See also, Sec. 2-3.02(a) Col. Code

for general qualifications for all boards.

Charge/Mission

This board issues bonds to finance private industrial and business projects.

It has seven members who shall be residents and taxpayers of Columbus and are
