WHEREAS, the Columbus State University Cougars men?s basketball team recently

won the Peach Belt Conference Tournament;



WHEREAS, the CSU Cougars (22-8) became the first team to win four games in the

tournament, knocking off both the North Division number one seed and the South

Division number one seed;



WHEREAS, the Cougars won the championship game over USC-Upstate by a score of

93-81;



WHEREAS, this championship marks CSU?s second Peach Belt Conference title in

the last three years;



WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Columbus State University Cougars Men?s

Basketball team are worthy of special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate the following members of the Columbus State

University men?s basketball team upon their championship victory at the Peach

Belt Conference Tournament: Charles Adekola, Will Davis, Jack Tinkler, Corris

Portis, Terrell Slater, Yandel Brown, Quint Coger, Nathan Patterson, Akeem

Francis, Chris Brown, Battle Neal, Kendrick Jones, Jeff Peterson, Chris

Jackson, Head Coach Herbert Greene, and Assistants Doug Branson, Corry Black,

and David Jackson. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the

above-named participants.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

5th day of April, 2005 and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of

ten members of said Council.
