An ordinance amending Section 2-91 of the Columbus Code so as to provide for 13

total members of the Columbus Convention and Visitors Board, including four

at-large members; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.



Section 2-91 of the Columbus Code is hereby amended by deleting the third

sentence in its entirety and by substituting the following new third sentence:



?The convention and visitors board of commissioners shall consist of thirteen

(13) persons, all of whom shall be residents of Columbus, Georgia and qualified

by law to vote at elections for the mayor and members of the Columbus

Council.?



SECTION 2.



Section 2-92 of the Columbus Code is hereby amended by deleting the

last paragraph and by substituting a new last paragraph to read as follows:



?Three commissioners shall represent the hotel-motel industry as owner

or general manager, three commissioners shall represent tourist attractions as

owner, executive director or their designee, three commissioners shall

represent other tourism-related businesses as owner, executive director or

their designee, and four commissioners shall serve at-large. Such

representation of the new thirteen member commission may be accomplished by the

Columbus Council as current terms expire and in any order desired by the

council.?



SECTION 3.



All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance

are hereby repealed.

6th day of December, 2005 introduced a second time at a regular meeting of said
