AN ORDINANCE

An Ordinance amending Section 21-14 of the Columbus Code so as to decrease the

membership of the Columbus Taxicab Commission from nine members to seven

members.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.



Columbus Code Section 21-14 is hereby amended by deleting the first and fifth

sentences in their entirety and by substituting new first and fifth sentences

to read as follows:



"There is hereby created a Columbus Taxicab Commission to be composed of seven

(7) members appointed by the Columbus Council and consisting of two (2) taxicab

owners, one (1) taxicab driver, one (1) representative selected by the Columbus

Chamber of Commerce, one (1) representative selected by the chief of police,

one (1) representative of the Columbus Airport Commission, and one (1)

representative of the hotel/motel industry. The seventh member of the

Commission appointed after January 1, 2003, shall serve an initial term of four

(4) years."





SECTION 2.



All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance

are hereby appealed.
