Council Members
(1) 2nd Reading ? Amending Ordinance #00-5 that amended certain conditions in
Ordinance #98-109 that amended certain boundaries of a district located east of
Armour Road and immediately east of Interstate 185 between Airport Thruway and
Manchester Expressway. The purpose of this amendment is to amend condition
numbers 2 and 3. (49-A-01-Columbus Properties, LLC) (Councilor Suber) (Both
the Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Division recommend approval.)
(2) 2nd Reading - Rezoning approximately 7.681 acres of property located 500
feet north of Manchester Expressway, between Armour Road and I-185 from an M-1
District to a C-3 District. (50-CA-01-Columbus Properties, LLC) (Councilor
Suber) (Both the Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Division
recommend conditional approval.)
(3) 2nd Reading ? Amending the text of the zoning ordinance to allow boarding
houses and rooming houses as a Special Exception Use in an R-3A District and an
R-4 District. Boarding houses and rooming houses are currently allowed as
principal uses in these districts. (52-A-01-Planning Division) (Councilor
Suber) (Both the Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Division
recommend approval.)
(4) 2nd Reading ? Designating the Peacock Woods-Dimon Circle Historic District
as an official historic district in Columbus, Georgia and fixing the boundaries
of this historic district as shown on the attached map, which map is
incorporated by reference; and for other purposes. (This alternate does not
include the block located south of 17th Street, west of Forest Avenue, north
of Brookside Drive and east of Flournoy Drive.) (Alternate-Councilor McDaniel)
(Note--if this ordinance is passed, it will effectively amend the ordinance
passed on November 13, 2001 designating this historic district.)
