A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE GEORGIA

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONSTRUCT A NEW ROAD (EASTERN CONNECTOR FROM

BUENA VISTA ROAD TO MACON ROAD SR22) IDENTIFIED AS PROJECT #STP-8042(6),

MUSCOGEE COUNTY; BETWEEN THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND THE CITY

OF COLUMBUS.



Whereas, the Georgia Department of Transportation has proposed to place

in their construction work program the construction of the Eastern Connector

from Buena Vista Road to Macon Road SR22; and,



Whereas, Columbus, Georgia will design, relocate all utilities,

signalize and provide all rights-of-way and/or easements while the Georgia

Department of Transportation will be responsible for construction of said

project; and,



Whereas, project funding is available under the 1999 SPLOST Funding.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES AS

FOLLOWS:



That, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the

Georgia Department of Transportation to construct a new road (Eastern Connector

from Buena Vista Road to Macon Road SR22) identified as Project #STP-8042(6),

Muscogee County.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held on

the 18th day of December, 2001 and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative

vote of members of said Council.
