Columbus, Georgia

WHEREAS, Kriss Cloninger III, President and Chief Financial Officer of AFLAC,

Incorporated, has been named the Best CFO in the Insurance/Life Category in

America by Institutional Investor magazine;



WHEREAS, Mr. Cloninger joined AFLAC in March, 1992 as senior vice president and

chief financial officer and in 1993, he was promoted to executive vice

president;



WHEREAS, in May, 2001 he was promoted to President and retained the title of

CFO;



WHEREAS, prior to his employment with AFLAC he was a consulting actuary with

KPMG LLP in Atlanta;



WHEREAS, Mr. Cloninger was selected as best CFO by over 1300 professionals at

more than 400 firms responding to a survey by Institutional Investor;



WHEREAS, this award is worthy of special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Kriss Cloninger III upon his selection

by Institutional Investor magazine as the Best CFO in the Insurance/Life

Category in America. Let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Mr. Kriss

Cloninger III.
