AN ORDINANCE

An ordinance amending and increasing miscellaneous fees for the Sheriff and

Coroner?s Departments and which were recommended by the Council Budget Review

Committee for the FY 2006 budget; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



Section 1.



Effective July 1, 2005, the listed fees for the Police Department,

Sheriff?s Office, and Coroner?s Office will change as listed in Section 2.

Section 2.

Department Fee Current Charge New Charge Effective July 1, 2005

Sheriff & Police Fingerprinting Cards $0 $5

Sheriff Criminal Record Checks (Local) $0 $5

Sheriff & Police Criminal Record Checks (History) $5 $20

Sheriff Various Reports (Offense Reports, Accident Reports, Traffic Tickets) $0 $5

Sheriff & Police Criminal Record Expungements $0 $50

Sheriff ID Cards (replacements) $0 $2

Sheriff Access Cards (replacements) $2 $5

Coroner Body Transport (Charges to Neighboring Counties) $75 $150

Coroner Toxicology Reports $0 $65





Section 3.



The fees listed in this Ordinance for the Police, Sheriff, and the Coroner?s

Departments are hereby adopted and shall become effective on July 1, 2005

unless otherwise indicated.



Section 4.



The Sheriff, Coroner and Police Chief reserve the right to waive fees

as authorized by applicable state law.



Section 5.



Payment for these services, excluding Body Transport, will be due at time of

request. Any fees paid for additional services or fees paid to attorneys are

not included in the listed service charges.



Section 6.



All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are

hereby repealed.

THIS ORDINANCE, introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus,

Georgia, held on the 21st day of June, 2005; introduced a second time at a

regular meeting held on the day of June, 2005 and adopted at said

meeting by the affirmative vote of members of said Council.
