O R D I N A N C E S:
(1) 1st Reading -An Ordinance amending the budgets for the fiscal year 2006
beginning July 1, 2005 and ending June 30, 2006, for certain funds of the
Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia, appropriating from fund balances
amounts shown in each fund for purchases and activities continued from the 2005
fiscal year, and for other purposes. (Budget Chairperson Pugh)
(2) 2nd Reading ? Rezoning property located at 1200 17th Street is proposed for
rezoning from GC (General Commercial) District to SFR4 (Single Family
Residential 4) District. (49-A-05-Elliott) (Councilor McDaniel) (The Planning
Advisory Commission and the Planning Division recommend approval.)
(3) 2nd Reading ? Rezoning property located at 8564 Blackmon Road is proposed
for rezoning from SFR1 (Single Family Residential 1) District to RE5
(Residential Estate 5) (50-A-05 Baker) (Councilor McDaniel) (The Planning
Advisory Commission and the Planning Division recommend approval.)
(4) 2nd Reading ? Rezoning property located at the northwest and southwest
corners of Veterans Parkway and Wooldridge Road and north of the aforementioned
northwest corner are proposed for rezoning from RE1 (Residential Estate 1)
District to GC (General Commercial) and RO (Residential Office) District. The
proposed use is retail, office, and apartments. (51-CA-05-Grey Rock

the Planning Division recommend conditional approval.)
(5) 2nd Reading - An ordinance granting a franchise to Georgia Power Company
for a term of 35 years; and for other purposes. (Councilor McDaniel)
R E S O L U T I O N S:
(6) Commending and congratulating Mr. Edward DuBose upon being promoted from
Second Vice-President to President of the Georgia NAACP at the 63rd annual
Georgia NAACP Convention. (Councilor Anthony)
(7) Commending and congratulating Mr. Roger Buterbaugh upon recently elected as
Director of the Georgia State Council of the Society for Human Resource
Management. (Councilor Anthony)
