The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, September 4, 2002,

at 2:00PM with Chairman Beatrice Breaux, Assessors Lawton Grantham, Richard

Stallings, Ann Grantham and William Braxton present. Also present was Chief

Appraiser Martin J. Land



Assessor Richard Stallings made a motion to approve Minutes #34-02, Assessor

William Braxton second the motion, motion carried unanimously.



The Board approved assessment corrections for real estate.



Met with Mrs. Storey and Mrs. Berry representing CONTACT Chattahoochee Valley

Inc. regarding a request for non-taxability for property located at 1520 22nd

Street (Parcel ID 028 019 001). Mrs. Storey and Mrs. Berry said CONTACT

Chattahoochee Valley Inc. purchased the property in 1999 and moved into it in

2000. They said the CONTACT is a 24-hour crisis help line, a non-profit 501 (

c) (3) organization. They said they receive funds from United Way, grants and

churches. They told the Board their services are available to all people. They

furnished the Board with a copy of the articles of incorporation. Assessor

Richard Stallings made the motion to exempt the property for 2002; Assessor Ann

Grantham second the motion, motion carried unanimously.
