A RESOLUTION

No.



WHEREAS, Chef Joe Lee, owner of Chef Lee's Peking restaurants in Columbus,

Georgia was recently honored by the National Restaurant Association and "The

Chinese Restaurant News" as one of the Best Chinese Restaurants in America;



WHEREAS, he arrived in Columbus with only $100.00 in his pocket and became an

entrepreneur opening his first restaurant on Buena Vista Road in 1984 and a

second restaurant on Bradley Park Drive in 1998 together employing over 70

people;



WHEREAS, Chef Lee has been honored with many awards over the past 20 years to

include "The Ledger/Enquirer's Reader's Choice Awards" and a regular recipient

of "The Taste of Columbus/The Valley";



WHEREAS, Mr. Lee most recently participated in a joint training program between

the United States and Taiwan governments;



WHEREAS, Chef Lee has supported many charities in Columbus through the years

and he is a member of the Country Club of Columbus, Green Island Hills Country

Club, the Korean Golf Association and the Asian Pacific Alliance;



WHEREAS, he has been married to Mei Lee for 25 years and has two children, Mary

and David, who both graduated from Brookstone School in Columbus;



WHEREAS, Mr. Lee's many accomplishments, integrity and honesty are worthy of

special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Joe Lee, Chef and owner of Chef Lee's

Peking restaurants in Columbus, Georgia upon recent recognition by the National

Restaurant Association and "The Chinese Restaurant News" as one of the Best

Chinese Restaurants in America. His compassion and hard work are a shining

example to the Columbus community and we wish him every success in the future.

Let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Chef Joe Lee.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

16th day of November, 2004, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
