An Ordinance providing for contributions to the Columbus, Georgia General

Government Employees? Pension Plan for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004:

WHEREAS, Ordinances heretofore adopted by the Council of Columbus, Georgia

provided for Governmental Contributions to the Employees? Retirement Plan;



WHEREAS, Actuarial Consultants have reevaluated the Plan and have determined

that the amount of $ 5,345,320 is required to fund the Plan in the fiscal year

beginning July 1, 2004. The amount to be prorated among the Consolidated

Government of Columbus, Georgia, the Columbus Board of Water Commissioners, the

Hospital Authority of Columbus, and the Columbus Airport Commission based on

actual earnings of the active participants in the Plan for the previous fiscal

year is as follows: Consolidated Government, 75% - $ 4,008,990; Columbus Board

of Water Commissioners, 14% - $ 748,345; Hospital Authority of Columbus, 9% - $

481,079 and Columbus Airport Commission, 2% - $ 106,906.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.



The following named agencies shall make the following monthly contributions for

fiscal year 2005 to the Finance Director of the Consolidated Government as

their prorata share of the contributions, payable the first of each month:



Consolidated Government $ 334,083

Columbus Board of Water Commissioners $ 62,362

Hospital Authority of Columbus $ 40,090

Columbus Airport Commission $ 8,909



SECTION 2.



All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance

are hereby repealed.

An Ordinance providing for the supplemental contributions to the Columbus,

Georgia Pension Plan for employees of the Department of Public Safety for the

fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004:

WHEREAS, Ordinances heretofore adopted by the Council of Columbus, Georgia

provided for governmental contributions to the Public Safety Employees Pension

Plan for the benefit of eligible employees;



WHEREAS, the Actuarial Consultants have reevaluated the Public Safety

Employees? Pension Plan and have determined that the funding required for the

fiscal year 2005 is $ 7,506,467.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.



The authorization of the new funding of the Columbus, Georgia Pension Plan for

employees of the Department of Public Safety by the appropriation of $

7,506,467 for fiscal year 2005.



SECTION 2.



All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance

are hereby repealed.

An Ordinance providing for Government funding of a Death Benefit Escrow for the

fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004:

WHEREAS, Ordinances heretofore adopted by the Council of Columbus, Georgia

provided a Death Benefit Escrow Fund for employees;



WHEREAS, Actuarial Consultants have reevaluated the Death Benefit Escrow Plan

and have determined that the amount of $ 112,132 is required to fund the Plan

in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004. The amount to be prorated among the

Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia, the Columbus Board of Water

Commissioners, the Hospital Authority of Columbus, and the Columbus Airport

Commission based on actual earnings of the active participants in the Plan for

the previous fiscal year is as follows: Consolidated Government, 87% - $

97,555; Columbus Board of Water Commissioners, 7% - $ 7,849; Hospital Authority

of Columbus, 5% - $ 5,607 and Columbus Airport Commission, 1% - $ 1,121.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.



That the following named agencies shall make the following contributions for

fiscal year 2005 to the Finance Director of the Consolidated Government as

their prorata share of the cost of the Death Benefit Escrow Fund by July 15th:



Consolidated Government $ 97,555

Columbus Board of Water Commissioners $ 7,849

Hospital Authority of Columbus $ 5,607

Columbus Airport Commission $ 1,121

for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004:

WHEREAS, Ordinances heretofore adopted by the Council of Columbus, Georgia

established a Major Disability Income Plan for employees;



WHEREAS, Actuarial Consultants have reevaluated the Major Disability Income

Plan and have determined that the amount of $ 83,220 is required to fund the

Plan in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004. The amount to be prorated among

the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia, the Columbus Board of Water

Commissioners, the Hospital Authority of Columbus, and the Columbus Airport

Commission based on actual earnings of the active participants in the Plan for

the previous fiscal year is as follows: Consolidated Government, 87% - $

72,401; Columbus Board of Water Commissioners, 7% - $ 5,825; Hospital Authority

of Columbus, 5% - $ 4,161 and Columbus Airport Commission, 1% - $832.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.

fiscal year 2005 to the Finance Director of the Consolidated Government as

their prorata share of the cost of the Major Disability Income Plan by July

15th:

Columbus Airport Commission $ 832

are hereby repealed.
