RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD
September 18, 2002
The Quarterly meeting of the Recreation Advisory Board Convened in the
Conference Room of the Parks and Recreation Department at Wednesday, September
18, 2002.

I. Call to order
Tony Adams, Director Due to terms expiring and member absences it was necessary
to conduct elections for Chair and Vice Chair Persons. Suggestions to appoint
member who will serve for a full year or more some terms are expiring soon. The
election results were:
Election of Chairman: Robert Loving
Election of Vice Chairman: Jim Anthony vote was unanimous.

Request of endorsement for Retired Senior Volunteer Program Reimbursement
Policy. Deborah made motion to accept mileage reimbursement for RSVP. Second
by Robert. Vote to accept was unanimous.
Tony decided to send RAB minutes of Department Staff Meeting and Project
Updates.
Motion to change the Bi-laws from 50% +1 policy, also mention Proxy as well.
Allowed to vote by proxy. Do away with item 7. Amend item 3. Voting will be
done by voice or by proxy. Second. Vote is unanimous. Proxy must be in on
desk by time meeting will be called. Secretary calls and member can?t attend
must appoint proxy threw E-mail or letter for your vote so we can take care of
business. Must be in a written form.
Badges and/or shirts for Board members to be recognized at Parks and Recreation
and/or City events and Letterhead for RAB will be discussed at next meeting.
Discuss to replace Susan Hindsman, she is living in Macon with her husband.
Richard Smith is the councilman at large it falls under him, he should replace
Susan.
Will research how many terms are served by RAB and who sets terms. (I spoke
with Sandra in Clerk of Council?s office, Board members elected by council
serves a four-year term the school board nominee serves a 1-year term.)

Next Board Meeting: December 11, 2002 5:00 p.m. Parks and Recreation Main
Conference Room.
