BUILDING CONTRACTORS EXAMINING BOARD



REGULAR MEETING - 11:00 A. M. - DECEMBER 5, 2002





The regular monthly meeting of the Building Contrac-tors' Examining

Board was held Thursday, December 5, 2002, at 11:00 A. M., in the office of

the Building Official. Members present were:

Mr. Johnnie Cargill Mr. Tommy Hinton

Ms. Stella Shulman Mr. Allen Wright



Board Member William L. Duck, Jr., was unable to attend the meeting.



Fourteen (14) applications were considered by the Board.

Certifi-cates of Qualification as Contrac-tors were issued to the following

appli-cants:



Residential Certificates

Charles R. Andre, Mr. Fix-It, Columbus, GA

Malcolm H. Dye, Stealth, Inc., Loganville, GA

Kenneth Wayne Martin, Martin?s Construction, Columbus, GA

Commercial Certificates

Glenn Allen Spivey, Hollis & Spann, Inc., Dothan, AL



Mr. Cargill made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Hinton to issue

Certificates of Qualifi-cation to these applicants on the basis of their grades

on the examina-tion, their letters of recommendation, and their

qualifica-tions, as revealed by their resumes, which showed the times and

places of their work experi-ence. The Board asked that Mr. Martin obtain

updated and more complete letters of reference. He complied with this request

and was issued his Certificate along with the others. (Examination was

administered by SBCCI, Southern Building Code Congress, International, on

Saturday, November 30, 2002.) Motion carried unanimous-ly by the four members

present for this meeting.



The other ten (10) applicants did not pass the examina-tion. Mrs.

Shulman made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Cargill, not to issue

Certificates of Qualification to them until they pass the examination. Motion

carried unanimous-ly by the four members present for this meeting.



The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting, which was held on November

7, 2002, were approved as presented.



There being no further business to come before the Board,

the meeting adjourned at 11:30 A. M.
