Columbus, Georgia

WHEREAS, Columbus Housing Initiative (CHI) has been a leader in addressing the

need for affordable housing in Columbus, Georgia;



WHEREAS, CHI is a non-profit community based development organization which was

established in 1998 to find solutions to these problems;



WHEREAS, CHI is now eligible to be designated by this Council as a Community

Based Development Organization (CBDO) which is allowed to utilize federal CBDG

monies for community development activities;



WHEREAS, CHI has met all of the criteria necessary for designation as a CBDO

including operating within an identified neighborhood; nomination, approval and

membership of its board of directors; addressing the needs of low and

moderate-income persons; private non-profit status; provide ownership of

property; and contracting powers.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby designate Columbus Housing Initiative, Inc. as a Community Based

Development Organization (CBDO) for Columbus, Georgia which shall be entitled

to exercise all development powers bestowed upon a CBDO by federal or state

law. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Columbus Housing

Initiative.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

4th November, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of ten

members of said Council.
