Columbus, Georgia

WHEREAS, the Pioneer League All-Stars Softball Team (11 & 12 year-olds)

recently won the 2003 Major Girls District 8 Championship;



WHEREAS, these girls also came in fifth in the State Tournament after an

undefeated season;



WHEREAS, the Pioneer League All-Stars were great ambassadors for their sport

and for Columbus and their achievements are worthy of special recognition by

this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate the following Pioneer League All-Stars upon

their victory in the District 8 Championship and their fifth-place finish in

the State Tournament: Chelsey Herring, Taylor Adams, Jessina Troche, Brooke

Meadows, Cesali Mears, Brittiney McConnell, Ashley Dupree, Felisha Portalatin,

Olivia Austin, Slade Richard, Rayven Baker and Samantha Lawhon, Manager Terry

Herring and Coaches Randy Adams, Johnny Valero and Ken Dupree. Columbus is

truly proud of this team and we wish them every success in the future. Let a

copy of this resolution be forwarded to the above-named participants.

2nd day of September 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
