AN ORDINANCE

AN ORDINANCE REGULATING VEHICULAR TRAFFIC IN COLUMBUS, GEORGIA BY

DELETING FROM THE ?OFFICIAL STREET MAP, CITY OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA? THE STREET

SEGMENT AND RIGHT-OF-WAY OF BAY AVENUE FROM THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF

DILLINGHAM STREET NORTH TO SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF TENTH STREET; PROVIDING

THAT ALL EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS OF RECORD REMAIN IN EFFECT AND PROVIDING

APPROPRIATE WIDTH AS REQUIRED BY THE APPLICABLE UTILITY COMPANIES WILL BE

RESERVED FOR UNKNOWN UTILITIES; AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF SAID PROPERTY IN

ACCORDANCE WITH THE COLUMBUS CHARTER; REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND

FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION I.



That the ?Official Street Map, City of Columbus, Georgia? is hereby

amended by deleting the following street segment and right-of-way:



Bay Avenue: Beginning at the north right-of-way line of Dillingham

Street and running north to the south right-of-way line of Tenth Street.



SECTION II.



That the street segment and right-of-way described herewithin Section I

is hereby declared surplus property for disposal in accordance with the City

Code and no longer needed for roadway purposes.



SECTION III.



Providing that all existing utility easements of record remain in

effect and providing appropriate width as required by applicable utility

companies shall be reserved for unknown utilities.



SECTION IV.



That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this

ordinance are hereby repealed.





Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia

held on the 16th day of March, 2004; introduced a second time at a regular

meeting of said Council held on the ____ day of ________, 2004 and adopted at

said meeting by the affirmative vote of _____ members of Council.
