WHEREAS, O.C.G.A. Section 48-5-295 requires that terms of members of the boards

of county tax assessors be set by resolution;



WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 88-40 has previously set the terms of the members of the

Columbus, Georgia Board of Tax Assessors at six (6) years;



WHEREAS, pursuant to O.C.G.A. Section 48-5-295 and Ordinance No. 88-40, members

of the Columbus, Georgia Board of Tax Assessors shall serve for terms of six

(6) years.





NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



Pursuant to O.C.G.A. Section 48-5-295 and Ordinance No. 88-40, members

of the Columbus, Georgia Board of Tax Assessors shall serve for terms of six

(6) years.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held on

the 1st day of February, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative

vote of members of said Council.
