SUBJECT: Sell of City Property (Swimming Pool)
INITIATED BY: City Manager?s Office
Recommendation: Approve the attached resolution declaring the property
identified as 420 6th Avenue a/k/a Tax Map Parcel 020-015-002, as surplus and
authorize the sell of said property in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, (see
attached map).
Background: The property has been in the possession of the City since
1977. It is a 60 x 120 +/- Sq. Ft. area with a swimming pool that was used for
public recreation.
Analysis: The property consists of a 60 x 120 +/- Sq. Ft. area with a swimming
pool. Subject property is zoned M-1. The sell of the property will allow the
swimming pool to be used as a Senior Citizen Water Therapy Facility.
Financial Considerations: The fair market value of the property is $5,000.00.
The property will be transferred by Warranty Deed.
Legal Considerations: Council must approve the sell of real estate and
newspaper notices shall be published in accordance with Columbus Charter
Section 7-501.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the attached resolution declaring the
property surplus and authorizing the sell of the above identified property.

AUTHORIZING A RESOLUTION DECLARING 60x120 +/- SQ FT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 420
6TH AVENUE AS SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING THE SELL OF SAID PROPERTY FOR THE
PURPOSE OF A SENIOR CITIZEN WATER THERAPY FACILITY, LOCATED IN MUSCOGEE COUNTY,
GEORGIA, A/K/A TAX MAP 020 015 002.
WHEREAS, the Columbus Consolidated Government has no future use or
plans for the facility/property; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Consolidated Government of
Columbus, Georgia to sell the property as surplus.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to declare property
identified on Tax Map 020 015 002, that measures 120 by 60 +/- feet located at
420 6th Avenue as surplus and authorizes the City Manager to execute all
documents necessary to sell said property at fair market value.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held

day of _________________ 2002 , and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative
vote of ______ members of said Council.
