A RESOLUTION

NO.



WHEREAS, the Columbus Football Club Red Star U-15 Girls Premier soccer

team recently won the U. S. Club Southeastern Region C Championship and placed

fifth in the 2004 National Cup III Championship;

WHEREAS, in the Southeastern Region C Championship tournament, Columbus

defeated teams from throughout the southeast, including the North Carolina

state champions;

WHEREAS, in the 2004 National Cup III Championship, they tied Sonoma,

California and Cape Cod, Massachusetts 0-0 and lost to Santa Rosa, California

3-0, placing them fifth in the nation;

WHEREAS, this team's accomplishments are worthy of special recognition

by this Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:

We commend and congratulate the following members of the Columbus

Football Club Red Star U-15 Girls Premier soccer team upon their recent victory

in the U. S. Club Southeastern Region C Championship and upon their fifth place

finish in the 2004 National Cup III Championship: Yasha Blount, Ashley

Branham, Cady Cluba, Alli Edwards, Amy Edwards, Jackie Ellis, Lindsey Hawking,

Lauren Hawkins, Ashli Julien, Jennifer Keehn, Sarah Knight, Meghan Kory, Eliza

Mason, Eryn Maynard, Terra McCullough, Shannon McGinty, Mandy Miley, Brittany

Pjetraj and Paige Reagan, and Managers Jeff Branham and Dee Dee Branham and

Coach Mike Carmean. We are truly proud of this team and we wish them every

success in the future.
