An Ordinance amending the Zoning Atlas of the Consolidated Government
of Columbus, Georgia; this amendment changes certain boundaries of a district
located at 2021 6th Avenue, from R-4 (High Density Residential) District to A-O
(Apartment-Office) District.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Division of the
Department of Community and Economic Development be, and the same is hereby
amended by changing the following described property from R-4 (High Density
Residential) District to A-O (Apartment-Office) District:
BEGINNING on the western line of 6th Avenue 100 feet southerly from the
southwest corner of the intersection of 21st Street and 6th Avenue, said
beginning point being marked by a drilled hole in a driveway, and from said
beginning point running South 01 degree 15 minutes East, along the westerly
line of 6th Avenue, 50 feet to another drilled hole in the concrete coping;
thence running South 87 degrees 49 minutes West, 150 feet to an iron stake;
thence running North 01 degree 15 minutes West, 50 feet to another iron stake;
and thence running North 87 degrees 49 minutes East, 150 feet to the beginning
point
The above-described property is being rezoned with the following conditions:
1. All lighting shall be directed internally using deflector shields.
2. Any external trash dumpsters / compactors shall be visually obstructed by a
structure that is aesthetically similar to the proposed development.
3. Screening for air conditioners, refrigeration units, and heat pumps shall be
required for all development on the property.
4. Driveway access shall be determined by the City Traffic Engineer.
